Doctorate and early stage researchers
You would like to contribute to research and obtain a doctorate in physics, gain scientific experience as a postdoc, lead an independent junior research group or habilitate in physics?
You may discuss all this directly with the physics working group in which you want to work or which is closest to your field of interest.
Doctorate
You can do your doctorate in Bayreuth in the traditional procedure at the Faculty for Mathematica, Physics and Computer Science:
Weiterhin besteht die Möglichkeit einer Promotion in folgenden strukturierten Promotionsprogrammen im Rahmen der „Bayreuth Graduate School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (BayNAT)“:
- Interdisciplinary Microplastic Sciences (InterMicro)
- Optical Excitations in Organic and Inorganic Semiconductors (OPTEXC)
- Photophysics of Synthetic and Biological Multichromphoric Systems
- Soft Matter Physics, Nonlinear Dynamics and Solid State Physics
Additional doctoral funding is possible at the University of Bayreuth via the interdisciplinary study programme ‘Biological Physics’.
Habilitation
Habilitation at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science is regulated as follows:
