Prof. Dr. Harald Pascher

who died on March 8, 2023.

Professor Harald Pascher worked at the former Chair of Experimental Physics I from 1985 to 2011. His research interest was the interaction of optical and magnetic properties of III/V and IV/VI semiconductor materials and structures. The experimental methods used were coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering and magneto-optical investigations. The infrared lasers necessary for such investigations required special experimental skills at that time. The observation of the interaction between electrons and nuclear spins in semiconductors and the development of microresonators for vertically emitting infrared semiconductor lasers deserve to be emphasized..

As an acknowledged experimental physicist, he had a number of national and international collaborations. He was a member of research associations and research training groups. We have lost an esteemed colleague in him.
